Water Foreman

The City of Lyons has an open position for full time Water Foreman. Must have current Kansas Drivers License. Experience: More than three years of water and wastewater facility treatment experience. Employee is expected to have acquired the necessary information, certificates and skills to perform the job reasonably well after six months in the position. Water foreman will perform duties to maintain safe potable water and wastewater service to the City of Lyons. Main responsibilities are the maintenance of the water and wastewater facilities, the installation and repair of water and sewer mains and water meters.

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Must be certified as Water Operator II, Physical Requirements: 80% of the time requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy (50 pounds or more) objects. Requires the ability to bend, stoop, shovel and climb in and out of ditches.

Assistant City Superintendent

Line Foreman
The City of Dighton, KS is seeking qualified candidates for one (1) electric line foreman position.

Line foreman shall be a skilled worker having seven (7) or more years' experience in this trade, or having been previously classed by a company as a first class lineman. Applicant must possess the required knowledge, skills and physical ability to perform any work which they may be called upon to do on the city's transmission and distribution line. Lineman will be required to operate all types of motor-driven equipment used in overhead, underground and construction equipment, building of new line, installing AMR meters, and whatever other work may be required of them.
